the dutch army folds

If my husband is anything to go by then the folding skills of Dutchmen may just be the best argument yet for a return to National Service.

Shirts and jumpers are effortlessly folded the-way-they-are-in-shops and fitted sheets wrestled into neat, flat packages with ease! According to him, these skills were mandatory during his two years of National Service in the Netherlands back in the ’80s. While he and his fellow conscripts took photos of each other, beer-infused and drunkenly waving guns at each other’s heads, it is their folding skills that have endured and are being immortalised in family legends around the globe.
