While organising a service for our car Ron and I came to the realisation that in three years we have only just managed to cover 20,000 kms. In the car that is.

I always said AUS$ 70 of petrol per quarter wasn’t getting us far!

On the other hand, if you think about registration and insurance, it is starting to look like a rather expensive piece of street art. Not to mention roadside assistance. Now why do we have that? Its not likely to break down if it never leaves the kerb outside our house. Come to think of it, rego, insurance and RACV together cost annually about 5 x the amount we spend in a year on petrol. Is petrol really that cheap?
